Discover. Learn. Do. These are the essential traits of being and staying curious. These are the traits that are essential to living the curious life. What is the curious life? It is the constant pursuit of making discoveries, learning more about your discoveries, trying out what you learned, and doing new things. This can be experienced across many areas of life, travel, food, reading, health, fashion, and much more. How are you living the curious life? Let’s talk about this in detail.

Discover

Defined as finding something or someone unexpectedly or in the course of a search. There is nothing on this earth that thrills me more than a good find. It is literally the most exhilarating feeling that I get. It’s a big world out there. You should aim to make new discoveries often. What subjects have you always wanted to know more about? What kind of challenges are you facing right now that need solutions? Putting in effort to make discoveries can help these answers come to you easily and effortlessly.

Learn

What do you with the things or people you discover? Learn more, learn more. Learning is essential to one’s growth process. In fact, deliberate learning can help you not only improve in the area of study but may help you other parts of your life. For example, learning the game of chess can help you improve concentration, precise thinking, and recognition of complex patterns. Skills like these are valuable in the workplace and no doubt can be core competencies for certain kinds of careers. I have always enjoyed learning new things and love to be around people who love to learn. I make set goals annually as well as monthly for learning new things. Carve out time to learn something new, you will improve your life.

Do

Now take what you discover and learn and get out there and do it! Don’t be one of those people who learns a whole bunch of things and do nothing with it. Get busy! Additionally, go out and try new things too. Go to that new restaurant that just opened up, try a new route to work, travel to a new city. Doing things brings pleasure to the one who learned it. Not only that I think you miss opportunities to helps others with what you know. Because when you start doing something new and find that you enjoy it, why not share it with others.  I love doing new things. I do new things on regular basis. Why? To keep my life fresh, exciting, and new. I also like applying what I learn to present situations. I recently read The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman and based on his teachings, I’ve been applying the principles I’ve learned in the book and guess what my relationships are getting better and so am I.
